About BYBSB Player Evaluations

These sessions are not tryouts to “make” a team. Every player who is League Age 9–12 will be placed on either a Majors or AAA roster.

Player Evaluations simply help coaches get an accurate idea of each player’s skills so we can create balanced, competitive teams across the league.

To participate in evaluations, players must be registered for the upcoming season.

Who Needs to Attend

• League Age 9–12:
  Required to attend one of the two scheduled evaluation dates and encouraged to attend both days. 

• League Age 10:
  Players interested in being considered for Majors are encouraged to attend both sessions and are required to attend one session. This allows coaches to fully assess skills.

• League Age 8:
  All 8s must register for AA Coach Pitch, but those wishing to be considered for AAA Player Pitch may attend the 8–9 evaluation sessions.
  Advanced 8s are encouraged to attend both sessions for the best chance to be evaluated for possible placement in AAA.

Final decisions regarding player movement into higher divisions are made by BYBSB managers and the Player Agent.

Check-In

Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and get settled before your group begins.

2026 Evaluation Schedule

TBD – Age-group schedules will be released as we get closer to the evaluation dates.

What to Bring

• Glove

• Helmet

• Bat

• Sneakers (no cleats inside the gym)
  If your player does not have a bat or helmet please let us know ahead of time.

What to Expect

Players will rotate through multiple skill stations, including:

• Fielding

• Throwing

• Pitching

• Hitting

Parents will not be permitted inside the evaluation area to ensure a smooth and distraction-free process.

Why Evaluations Matter

All Little Leagues, including BYBSB, use evaluations to create fair and balanced Majors and AAA teams. Ensuring teams are evenly matched helps provide a positive experience and competitive environment for all players throughout the season.
